Sonshine Mountain Retreat CenterSonshine Mountain is located five miles north of Mountainburg, Arkansas nestled in the beautiful Boston Range. This is part of the Ozark Mountains and is one of the most beautiful areas of the United States.

Sonshine Mountain is home of the Tom Cox World Ministries and the Sonshine Mountain Retreat Center.

From the top of Sonshine Mountain you can see 50 miles on a clear day! Near Lake Fort Smith and Devil’s Den State Parks hiking, swimming, boating and fishing are accessible to our facilities. Just a leisure stroll through the mountains is refreshing.

Sonshine Mountain Retreat Center

The retreat center is designed to accommodate 40 people (14 males and 14 females) in opposite dorm areas and 4 private rooms, each with a queen or double bed, plus a set of bunk beds and a private bath. One private bedroom is handicap accessible.

The retreat center has a fully equipped kitchen and a dining room/meeting space for 70 to 100 people.  It is perfect for church groups, social organizations and family reunions. It is also a great place where a couple or individual can just enjoy a spiritually enriching time away from the daily grind.

Directions:

FROM FAYETTEVILLE:

  • Interstate 540 South
  • Exit interstate at exit 34 (Chester)
  • Turn left onto highway 282
  • Turn left onto highway 71, go 4 miles
  • Turn left onto Cartwright Mountain Road (gravel road on inside of sharp corner), go 1 mile
  • Turn Right at Sonshine Mountain Retreat Center sign

OR

  • Travel South on Highway 71
  • Turn Right onto Cartwright Mountain Road, just past Artist Point (Saddle Canyon)
  • Travel 2 miles on gravel road to the Sonshine Mountain Retreat Center.  Sign is on left side of the road.

DIRECTIONS FROM FT SMITH:

  • Interstate 540 N
  • Exit interstate at exit 34 (Chester)
  • Turn left onto highway 282
  • Turn left onto highway 71
  • Turn left onto Cartwright Mountain Road South Entrance (gravel road on in side of sharp corner), go 1 mile
  • Turn at Sonshine Mountain Retreat Center sign on the Right
